Hi! I’m Hanna, and I’m so glad you’re here.
Hanna Brinnier Perrault, LCSW
Owner & Psychotherapist
Ever since I was a teenager, I’ve been deeply fascinated by psychology. I was the kid staying up late watching CBT videos and trying to analyze characters in movies. I even remember wanting a hard copy of the DSM in high school—not for any practical reason, just pure curiosity about how the human mind works. Long before college, I was known as the “psychology nerd,” counting down the days until I could begin graduate school and start doing clinical work.
“I just want to be a therapist already,” said my ambitious (and very impatient) 18-year-old self.
Years later—after graduate school, internships, full caseloads, and experience across different settings—that fascination hasn’t faded. If anything, it’s deepened. I genuinely love being a therapist. I believe in therapy wholeheartedly, not just because I practice it, but because I’ve experienced it.
Before I was a therapist, I was a client (And maybe I still am). I know what it feels like to sit on the other side of the room—the vulnerability, the uncertainty, the silence, the discomfort. And I also know the growth, the relief, and the transformation that can come from that space. I am living proof that therapy works. The therapists who have supported me over the years have shaped not only who I am, but how I show up for others. My experience as a client is at the core of my work and informs my approach every day.
In sessions, I show up as a real person. Therapy, at its heart, is a relationship. Life is complex, and being human can be incredibly hard. While I am a therapist, I am also someone who knows what it means to feel—deeply. I understand insecurity, fear, struggle, and growth. Like my clients, I want to feel heard, understood, and valued. And even in our differences, we can always connect through the shared experience of being human.
That belief is the foundation of my work: a genuine, warm, and collaborative space where you don’t have to pretend or perform.
So no, I won’t ask you to “lay back on a couch and tell me your problems.” I’ll meet you exactly where you are—often with a coffee in hand—and we’ll talk, human to human. It’s a privilege to hear people’s stories, to witness their resilience, and to support the growth that can emerge from pain.
If you’re here, you’ve already taken a meaningful first step. I would be honored to walk alongside you in your healing journey.

Meet JoJo!
Jojo is my best friend and therapy dog, who is well trained in confidentiality!
Like many humans, Jojo is also a trauma survivor. In November 2023, she was found chained up in a junk yard in South Carolina, with lasting medical and dental damage. Through lots of love, snuggles, and treats, she has worked through so much anxiety. She is incredibly resilient and brave. She is truly the most gentle and sweetest dog you will ever meet. She really just needed a family to love her, and now she feels safe enough to be her goofy self.
She is a true testament to why I love dogs so much, and why I work hard to break the stigma around pitbull breeds—they're so misunderstood!
